The Association

The Association of Access to Information and Privacy Professionals (AAPI) was founded with the goal to carry out access to information as well as privacy managers and stakeholders’ expressed will to develop communities of practitioners and, in doing so, to make the tools, developed management frameworks and experiments conducted in these fields accessible to Quebec and federal public administration bodies, as well as to private companies.

In 2020, the AAPI quickly took note of the importance of the changes that were proposed in bill 64 (An Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information) for private companies of all sizes and Quebec’s public bodies from various sectors of activity (government departments and bodies, education and higher education, health and social services, municipal and public safety as well as professional orders). The AAPI is therefore determined to put its knowledge, skills, and expertise available to them.
